There are only a few people who you meet in one's life that are truly life changing. Mark Lawrence has been one of those people for me. Beyond his kindness, persistence and tenacity, he cares about people, specifically our youth. He creates masterpieces for all to revel and bring life to a canvas. Mark Lawrence is an artist's artist, he has transformed the often bland and mundane walls of many public schools into spaces of vibrancy and hope. He reps the Bronx phenomenally. I have yet to meet an artist that is able capture the visions and thoughts of people and turn them into works of art. Whether it's honoring our ancestors or the calming images in the waiting areas at women's centers, I am proud to say that when I was a Principal, I was the first school he showcased his artistic genius. A true New York treasure, Mark Lawrence, thank you brother!
